What does Latin American Heritage Month mean to you?

Latin American Month is a time for me to celebrate my family’s roots and honor the traditions, values, and experiences that have shaped who I am. As the daughter of Dominican parents and someone who grew up speaking Spanish as my first language, it’s an opportunity to recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities while reflecting on the pride I have in my heritage. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of representation and creating spaces where everyone feels seen and valued.

How has your culture shaped who you are today?

It instilled the importance of family, resilience, hard work, and community. Growing up in a Dominican household, I learned the value of building strong relationships, supporting others, and embracing diverse perspectives. Those values have carried into my professional life and influence how I connect with others, lead with empathy, and help foster inclusive environments where people can thrive.

What advice do you have for those looking to be allies to the Hispanic or Latino communities?

Listen with curiosity, learn from different experiences, and be open to understanding cultures beyond your own. Meaningful allyship starts with respect, genuine interest, and creating opportunities for diverse voices to be heard. Small actions, such as celebrating cultural differences and advocating for inclusion, can have a lasting impact.

What does Latin American Heritage Month mean to you?

Latin American Heritage Month is a chance for me to reflect on where I came from and the people who helped me get here. As a first-generation Mexican and the first person in my family to earn a college degree, it reminds me that every opportunity I have today is built on the sacrifices my family made. It also gives me a chance to celebrate our culture and hopefully inspire others who are just beginning their own journey.

How has your culture shaped who you are today?

My culture taught me the value of hard work, humility, and putting family first. I started at Enterprise when I was 18 years old as a detailer because I was raised to believe that no job is beneath you if you’re willing to work hard. That mindset has stayed with me throughout my career and really aligns with one of Enterprise Mobility’s founding values: We work hard, and we reward hard work. My mom has been my biggest influence. She always believed in me, encouraged me through every challenge, and showed me unconditional love. I wouldn’t be where I am without her.

What advice would you give to other professionals entering your field?

Don’t let where you start define where you can finish. Every opportunity I’ve had has come from being willing to learn, work hard, and stay disciplined. Be proud of your background because it gives you a unique perspective. Find mentors, ask for feedback, and never be afraid to raise your hand for new opportunities.

What does the 2026 theme, “Together, we are more” mean to you?

To me, “Together, we are more” is a reminder that people are our greatest strength. No matter the challenges, setbacks, or obstacles we face, when we unite around a shared vision and support one another, we become far more significant than we could ever be on our own. Success is important, but significance is even more valuable. Significance is found in the ability to invest in others, build meaningful relationships, and create lasting impact within our communities. Through connection, networking, and storytelling, we have the opportunity to bring people together, inspire growth, and cultivate a sense of belonging. When we embrace our collective strengths and lift one another up, we truly become more—together.

Through honoring family values, embracing hard work, and leading with empathy and integrity, Jessica, Zair and Javier remind us that individual stories contribute to a greater collective impact. As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and look toward the 2026 theme, “Together, we are more,” we are reminded that by uplifting one another and embracing our diverse experiences, we create stronger, more connected communities.
